The Jones County Urgent Repair Program (URP) assists low-income homeowners with health- and safety-related home repairs—especially roof replacements and HVAC installation/replacement—so residents can remain safely in their homes.

Jones County began offering URP in 2024 with funding from the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency (NCHFA). This is an extremely competitive program with $150,000 in total funding, typically assisting about 10 households per year. The maximum award per home is $15,000 (increased from the 2024 cycle). In the most recent round, the County received nearly 300 calls and over 100 applications.

Applications typically open around June each year. Information is posted on the County website, social media, and in public offices across County departments. Future cycles will focus primarily on roof and HVAC replacement projects.
