Jones County Parks and Recreation works to provide recreational programs and opportunities for ages preschool through adults. The goals of our recreational sports programs are to provide fundamental sports skills, encourage fitness and activity, promote good self-esteem, and to provide mentorship and fun for youth and adults. Jones County Parks and Recreation works to promote and encourage participation for all of Jones County’s towns and communities.

National studies show that most youth get less than one hour per day of physical exercise. They also show that 40% of youth ages 13-16 are clinically obese. But youth that participate in sports have a healthier weight, earn higher grades, and are more likely to attend college. We strive to encourage participation that will promote physical fitness and provide positive self-awareness for our youth.

Our main source of marketing for new programs is fliers sent home through the public schools, social media posts, and banners/signs that will be displayed at major town intersections as reminders for new registrations. We will also promote programs and services offered by our Senior Services Department and County Library System.

Please join our Jones County NC Recreation Facebook Page for upcoming programs and announcements.
